Update November 20, 2014
The U.S. District Court approved the parties’ renewed motion to approve the settlement and entered final judgment on October 14. Copies of these orders are available here. The deadline to file any appeals has now passed, and the parties are in the process of implementing the relief provided in the settlement. Please check back for more updates.
Update: November 11, 2013
As a result of the recent appellate decision that reversed the District Court’s order approving the settlement, attorneys for the parties intend to file a Renewed Motion for Final Approval of the Settlement before the District Court by December 31, 2013. The website will be updated when there is additional information to report. Feel free to check back with the website periodically for any update.

Appeals of the final approval order have been filed. Pursuant to the Court orders and the Stipulation of Settlement, these appeals need to be resolved before any benefits are distributed.

Welcome to the Settlement Website for In re: HP Inkjet Printer Litigation, Case
No. C05-3580 JF. This website provides information about the class action settlement
involving certain Hewlett-Packard Company (“HP”) inkjet printers. On October 1,
2010, the Court gave preliminary approval to the settlement and certified a settlement
class of purchasers and owners of certain inkjet printers. To be a class member,
you must have purchased the printer for your own use or received it as a gift in
the United States (and not for resale or distribution) between September 6, 2001
and September 1, 2010. A list of printers at issue in this settlement is available

The Court in charge of this lawsuit is the United States District Court for the
Northern District of California. As part of this settlement the Court combined three
separate lawsuits against HP as one lawsuit called In re: HP Inkjet Printer Litigation,

SUMMARY OF THE SETTLEMENT
The proposed settlement provides for a number of significant benefits, including
HP’s agreement to discontinue the use of certain pop-up messaging that includes
the graphic image of an ink gauge, ruler, or container of ink, and to make certain
changes to the disclosures on its website and the packaging, manuals and/or user
interfaces for HP small-format inkjet printers. In addition, if you are eligible,
the proposed settlement may provide an e-credit for future purchases of printers
and printer supplies offered at www.shopping.hp.com. Please click
